1.Introduction

The working principle of ultrasonic transducers is based on the
piezoelectric effect or magnetostrictive effect:
- Piezoelectric effect: Piezoelectric materials (such as
piezoelectric ceramics, quartz, etc.) will undergo mechanical
deformation when voltage is applied, and conversely, they will
generate electric charge when subjected to mechanical pressure. By
applying an alternating voltage, piezoelectric materials will
produce mechanical vibrations, thereby emitting ultrasonic waves.
- Magnetostrictive effect: Some magnetostrictive materials will
change size under the action of a magnetic field. Through an
alternating magnetic field, these materials can be vibrated and
then emit ultrasonic waves.
